VtM 5e and Project Direction

So the past week or so, I’ve started reading the core rulebook of Vampires: The Masquerade 5th Edition. I kind of got inspired to implement this system into the game after watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piSEjaBZ5SY

I do have to admit that the book itself has a treasure trove of information to tickle my imagination for setting up the scenarios.

That said, I’ve been making some assets for the cards necessary for a character creation portion of the game. These were .xcf files created in GIMP (which is free software) using Font Awesome icons, in the general style of Magic: The Gathering cards. Here’s a few examples, below:

The general idea is to make them imagebuttons or imagemaps, similar to how Eva Kiss does some of the selections in her game, Our Red String.

Of course, I’ve been thinking of this character creation portion, and my general intent with it is to have a scene where either a teacher from Alexis’s school or Alexis herself conducts a quiz to ask the main character/Sam about the circumstances of his university time away.

This scene would take place after Sam undertakes two to three initial missions for the gang. (I’m thinking the Ruby delivery and working with Steve to takeover Jeremy’s porn studio.)

That way, some of the choices or skills could be a little bit constrained/sieved and predetermined, depending on how the player character chooses to undertake those missions.

Apart from this work, I’ve been practicing, watching Dreamlight videos, and studying lighting in DAZ. I hope to improve more on my scene composition before I post some additional work on the render front.
