This week, I managed to spot a PNY 5090 being sold on Walmart, so I bought it. First graphics card I have bought, after which I felt dirty and violated. Maybe I can channel these feelings into writing for my characters.
Well, it arrived this morning, and I have installed it. Luckily, it doesn’t seem like my 12-volt high power connector has melted, so I guess that’s good news. Also checked for missing ROPs, and didn’t see any missing, so that’s also good.
PNY is doing me proud so far. Unfortunately, DAZ hasn’t released an update to their studio software to allow me to render using this beefed up hardware yet. (Wanted really badly to see how the rendering performance would improve in IRAY as well as being able to render scenes with significantly more actors and thus, VRAM usage. Those were the primary motivators for this purchase.)
In positive news, allegedly DAZ support is supposed to come sometime this month, according to the ETA specified here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5619/~/nvidia-geforce-rtx-50-series-studio-apps-support
So I guess I ought to spend this time just setting up some scenes with poses so I can work through the lighting later, or work through the script changes, the system, and everything else.
So on to Alexis:
- (Humanist) – I want to protect her innocence. (Corresponding to – thou shalt not harm the innocent.) Actions in violation, either corrupting her, letting her get corrupted, or other actions that whittle away or destroy her innocence will thereby add stains.
- (Creed of justice)- Protect her from this world. (Corresponding to- Never kill the innocent.)
- (Gothic/Romantic)- Protect her smile. (Corresponding to- Never deny true love.)
- (Street Code)- Watch over her. (Corresponding to- Never snitch.)
